Liquid products

Our liquid products business produces and markets a wide range of fresh milk and cream products.

Our activities

Dairy Crest is one of the largest purchasers of fresh milk in the UK. Across our business we seek to add value to milk by:

Developing our markets

Retailers

We sell milk and cream to key retailers including all the major supermarket chains.

Food service

We supply milk and cream to major restaurants and food service customers. We are continually looking to add value to their offering by developing new products.

Investing in our future

We have invested significantly in our production facilities to improve our quality and make the most efficient use of resources.

We have four dairies supplying fresh milk to supermarkets. These are based in Severnside, Chadwell Heath, Foston and Fenstanton. This gives us good geographical coverage of England and Wales. In addition we have a specialist cream manufacturing site at Chard in Somerset.

We now have two of the largest dairies in the UK, Severnside (Gloucestershire) and Chadwell Heath (Essex), which can process 500 million litres and 400 million litres of milk a year respectively.

Dairy Crest has a regional dairy in Fenstanton as well as a modern dairy in Foston in Derbyshire which opened in May 2002.

Dairy Crest has invested in developing a cream centre of excellence facility at Chard. This added value site will be focussed on developing and manufacturing innovative cultured, added value and fresh creams.

Dairy Crest also has dairies situated in Liverpool and Hanworth in Middlesex which process fresh milk for doorstep distribution.
