Dairy Crest prides itself on the quality of the whey it produces. We’ve been manufacturing award winning cheese for over 65 years at Davidstow using milk that can be traced back to West Country farmers who meet high quality Davidstow Farm Standards. This milk is only made into high quality cheddar cheese all year round. Our whey comes from this single cheese type and is demineralised using advanced processing equipment resulting in a premium quality, consistent and fully traceable product. Demineralised whey is a spray dried, soluble milk protein and carbohydrate source with a low mineral content making it suitable for babies. It is also known as D90 because a minimum of 90% of the minerals are removed.
We have a strategic partnership with Fonterra who sell our demineralised whey as part of their paediatric portfolio. Fonterra is the world’s largest dairy exporter and is therefore able to leverage its strong commercial relationships globally to support sales of Dairy Crest’s demineralised whey.
