Wexford Cheddar
Wexford Irish Cheddar prides itself in the fact that local farmers from Wexford County (South East of Ireland) and their families help to make their ranges of cheddar. This 50-year-old tradition of making cheese in Wexford is available for everyone to enjoy, from one good family to another. Both Wexford County's natural environment and a diet of fresh lush green grass ensure that the milk used to make all varieties of Wexford Cheddar is always of the very highest quality. The Wexford Cheddar packaging reflects this quality and features local farmers (Ken Chapman, Sean Kiely and Philip Rochford)– who actually supply milk for the cheese – on their distinctive packs.
Wexford Cheddar is an award-winning brand. It recently took several gold medals at the 2007 World Cheese Awards. Wexford Cheddar won gold for “Rich & Mature” and “Strong & Vintage” and Best New Product for “Strong and Vintage.” This success confirms the delightfully consistent taste of Wexford Cheddar.
Wexford Mild and Creamy is available in a 200g and 400g block and 200g slices to fit every usage occasion. The Strong & Vintage and Rich & Mature varieties are available in 200g blocks. A unique feature of the brand is its re-closable stay-fresh packs, which in addition to giving the consumer extra convenience and less wastage, ensures the cheese stays fresh that much longer.
